This is a more substantial instrument than the open back VPB12, with more volume and focus due to the combination of aluminium shell and mahogany resonator.

Even at a much higher price, it would be really hard to fault the quality of these Pilgrim banjos; fit and finish is superb, while this closed-back model features a lovely burst finish on the mahogany back. The input of Pilgrim’s master instrument-designer Paul Tebbutt is evident, and it’s really exciting to see a great old brand revived for the players of today!
